December 3 – Moment. Pick one moment during which you felt most alive this year. Describe it in vivid detail (texture, smells, voices, noises, colors). (Author: Ali Edwards)
I finished the phone call, tamping down my elation and excitement, trying to sound calm, cool and collected. I think I succeeded, but probably not. :)
The news was good. No, better than good; it was fantastic! Terrific, monumentally life-altering news!
The weight of the world was lifted from my shoulders in those few moments after the call. I took a deep breath, yelled out to my husband and then ran up the stairs, nearly collapsing from the buoyant feeling of relief.
I remember very little other than trying to breathe, wanting to cry but not wanting to spoil the moment. It was a good moment. To this day, I can’t help but smile when I think about it.
