Chats with Matt Episode 10: The Last Text (or Proof of Wit)

For the record, no pick-up time was discussed. I hadn’t heard from him, so I thought he’d just meet me at 5:00 and I think I pulled in at 5:03.

Also, note the highlighted condition of my phone battery. Clearly one of us is more diligent about charging. :)

PS - This is just proof of that wittiness I mentioned earlier today and isn’t that a great last text? That’s crucial information I needed to know.

Chats with Matt Episode 9: #BlissdomCanada Edition

Sitting at the dinner table - blissfully alone for once - Matt and I were chatting about the coming days. He’s been rubbing it in every chance he gets that I’m going away to Blissdom Canada and leaving him all alone for 4 days and 3 nights.

Me: I’m off work Monday. I have two meetings in the morning and then I can get some things done.

Matt: What do you mean you’re off Monday? Why are you off Monday?

Me: I took it off to have a recovery day.

Matt: What do you have to recover from? You’re just going to a conference. All you’re doing there is sitting and typing.

Yes, that’s all I’ll be doing. I can’t wait to see all the fabulous women I get to talk to online! We’ll have a blast sitting around typing. ;)

Chats with Matt Episode 8: Birthday Boy Blues

Matt and I were discussing Brandon’s birthday Saturday when Matt had a brainwave:

Matt: I’m 10 times older…. Wait, 11…no, 12 times older than Brandon tomorrow.

Me: Your brother is 13 times older than Brandon this year.

Matt: Oh, so I guess that makes me 12 point something times older than him.

Me: 12.67 to be precise.

Matt: WHY!? Why do you have to do this to me all the time?

Me: Because I can.

Chats with Matt Episode 7: Ben & Jerry

If you missed yesterday’s episode of Chats with Matt, check it out first. :)

This past Friday night, Matt and I stopped at the store. At one point we each went in different directions to get certain things before meeting up again at the checkout. It was at this point that I noticed a tub in the cart. Matt seemed to know what I was looking at and he picked it up.

I told him he wasn’t supposed to buy that and his response was that if I was going out for the evening (that was my plan), then he was planning to spend that time eating the carton of Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked.

As we loaded the groceries in the car, I said something about Matt choosing to eat the entire carton of ice cream without me.

His response: Whatever. I’m not crazy about spending my Friday night with two dudes, but you’re going out without me.

Chats with Matt Episode 6: Story of my Life

Last Sunday Night

Matt comes in with groceries and as he’s unpacking them, he holds up a can of Jalapeño Pringles, no doubt thinking I’d be so proud!

Me: Matt, I asked you not to buy anymore of those.

Matt: No, that was ice cream.

Me: I asked you not to buy that too.

Matt: Oh, well I did.

Me: Matt!

Matt: I’m just kidding. I only bought the chips.

Me: Okay, no more though.

Matt: Okay.

One SHORT week later…

Matt comes in with groceries and as he’s unpacking them, he holds up a can of Jalapeño Pringles, no doubt thinking I’d be so proud!

Me: Matt, I asked you not to buy anymore of those.

Matt: No, that was ice cream.

Me: I asked you not to buy that too.

Matt: Oh, well I did.

Me: Matt!

Matt: I’m just kidding. I only bought the chips.

Me: I wish I could say this was déjà vu.

This really happened. And it wasn’t the first time. It’s kinda scary how often we repeat conversations. Of course, it makes for easy blog fodder. All I have to do is copy and paste the first half of my post. :)

Update: Guess what he bought last night?
